Theresa Meadows is Senior VP and Chief Information Officer at Cook Children’s Health Care System.  She began her career as a registered nurse.  Since receiving a graduate degree in 1998 in Health Informatics, her career has been a fast and steady trajectory into the “C” suite.  Previously she was Manager at McKesson Provider Technologies and Director, Ascension Health Information Systems.

Cook Children’s is one of the country’s leading integrated pediatric health care delivery systems. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the non-profit organization includes a nationally recognized Medical Center, Physician Network, Home Health Company, Health Plan, Health Foundation and Health Care System.

Joan Hicks is Chief Information Officer at the University of Alabama Health System.  She began her career in health information management and received a graduate degree in Health Informatics in 1994.  As CIO Joan is responsible for Health System Information Services which provide IT services for the University Hospital (a 900+ bed acute care facility), UAB Highlands Hospital, Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital, The Kirklin Clinic and Health Centers and Health Information Management for University Hospital and UAB Highlands Hospital.

 UAB is the largest academic medical center in Alabama and one of the top four largest academic medical centers in the United States.  UAB’s Cardiovascular Center is nationally ranked and the Comprehensive Cancer Center performs cutting edge cancer research.  UAB’s Level III Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the only one of its kind in Alabama and the Comprehensive Transplant Center is a national leader in kidney transplants.
